Péricles Barbosa Cunha de Miranda holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pernambuco (UPE), a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), and a PhD in Computer Science from the same institution. In 2023, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Granada, Spain, funded by CNPq. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), also working in the Postgraduate Program in Applied Informatics (PPGIA). Furthermore, he is one of the coordinators of the AiBoxLab Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, where he develops and coordinates research and innovation projects in Artificial Intelligence.

Throughout his academic and scientific career, he has participated in important national research networks and centers, including the National Institute of Artificial Intelligence (INCT-IA) and the Center for Applied Research in Artificial Intelligence IARA. His research interests focus on Automated Machine Learning (AutoML), optimization, meta-learning, computational intelligence, and applications of Artificial Intelligence in different domains such as education, health, public safety, and natural language processing.
